Say goodbye to frizz with a professional blow dryer
Are you looking forward to the feeling of shiny, glossy, slightly tousled hair after your first haircut since the blockade? Well, with a little practice and patience, you can surprisingly blow-dry your hair with a professional blow-dryer! As you may have noticed – if you didn’t chat throughout your appointment – your stylist will pop in a ton of product before blow-drying your hair, which is key to making sure it looks healthy and shiny. To keep your hair looking good and feeling silky smooth, a hair mask will be your best friend. It’s important to make sure you don’t use hair masks too often, as your hair can become difficult to style, but applying a mask every now and then is great for nourishing your hair. Other products that can help you when blow drying include
Blow dry extensions
Professional Morning After Bust
Reshaping Spray
Texture Spray
Heat protector
Given that it is the most needed item for your hair dryer, along with your products, you should try to spend a little more money on the hair dryer you purchase. While it may seem like a lot of money to spend on hair products, it is definitely worth your time. The reason why you need a professional hair dryer is because it will dry your hair without damaging it, and it will also keep the smooth, shiny look you want. dressed To Kill has put together some of the best hair dryers for hair extensions, perfect if you want to keep the last few strands of hair from your extensions before you go to your appointment!
Once you have your products and blow dryer ready, it’s time to master the technique. Georgina Mullan from 81 Rose Garden said:
“It may seem difficult, but it is possible to make yourself a salon standard hair dryer at home. It may take longer and require a degree of arm strength to get great results, but if you follow these simple steps, you may be pleasantly surprised at the results. You’ll need to start by blow-drying your hair until it’s about 80% dry, then hold the hair dryer so it’s facing down to avoid frizz and keep blowing until it’s completely dry. If you want a big, bouncy curl, then be sure to keep the comb as close to the roots as possible so as to create height at the crown and follow the hair by pulling the blow dryer upward.”
Sweet curls without the hassle
Just like using a hair dryer, the only way to achieve the curls of your dreams is to have quality hair styling tools. However, it’s important to make sure you don’t damage your hair, so if you’re a girl who likes easy curls, then be sure to spray on some heat protectant before curling. We recommend blow drying your hair with a heating tool at a low temperature such as 150°C to 170°C, as although it can withstand temperatures up to 185°C, it can be extremely damaging. Also, try not to heat the same area for long periods of time as this can cause the hair to become too hot and eventually break. It’s all about the product
You may have noticed that the £2 shampoo and conditioner you buy at the grocery store isn’t doing your hair any favors, and that your hair feels dry and slightly flat even when the weather is nice. That’s because you need to use products that are designed for your hair. The best way to determine your hair style is to ask your stylist, who can advise you on what works best for you. Once you’ve determined whether your hair is greasy, thin, thick, curly or soft, you can find the shampoo and conditioner that works for you and not against you. Spending a little extra on your hair care will improve your scalp and sweet hair, whether you’re a real Rapunzel or flaunting your stuff with hair extensions for the good of the world. If your hair is damaged or dry, then you may also benefit from a hair oil that can help nourish your hair while leaving it silky smooth.
Less washing and more massaging!
Whenever our hair needs brushing, we want to enjoy a scalp massage at the barbershop. But there’s a good reason why your stylist will spend a long time washing your hair. By massaging the product into your scalp, you’ll not only wash your hair thoroughly, but you’ll also stimulate your follicles to grow, perfect for us girls trying to grow out our bad hair color choices!
After enjoying a wonderful massage, you need to make sure you thoroughly wash all the applied products. Leaving any form of product on your hair will damage the strands and leave your hair looking flat and dull. The only products that should be left on your hair are the oils and heat protectants that are applied to your hair after shampooing. To further ensure that your hair is not damaged and remains flawless while washing, try turning the shower down a few degrees as the cold water will seal the hair and prevent breakage.
