Blondes may be known for having more fun, but you know what isn’t? Deciding to choose just one shade when there are so many blonde hair colors to choose from. With darker hair colors ranging from platinum blonde to champagne blonde to dandy style blonde, it can feel impossible to keep up with the different shades of each trend – especially when celebrities seem to change their hair every other day.

That is, if you’re already a blonde, you may be bored with the color – and may even be wondering if you’re running out of blonde colors to try. Or maybe you’re looking for something less maintainable, like a dirty blonde, dim lighting or sun-kissed balayage. Either way, you’re in luck: We asked hair experts about their favorite blonde hairstyles, and which ones are catching on (or coming into their own). So whether you’re overwhelmed by all the options and need help deciding, or you’re looking to spice up your natural blonde, you’re sure to find your perfect shade in no time.

The original blonde
“It’s very popular now to dye your hair the lightest blonde without toner,” Alex Brownsell, celebrity hairstylist and co-founder of Bleach London, tells Glamour. “This bleach is low-maintenance, but the key is to keep the roots fresh. It must be touched up at your salon or home every five to six weeks, as waiting too long can cause streaking and turn the original color yellow, which can ruin the effect.” Brownsell recommends using Bleach London Silver Conditioner to maintain the look.

Cool Chardonnay
Gregory Patterson, celebrity hairstylist and DIY expert at Sally Beauty, says the temperature may rise, but hair color cools, citing champagne blondes as an example. “We’re looking for really cool shades, but the best kind — think very cool, smoky, oaky ash blonde,” he says, pointing to Ion’s 6A dark ash blonde as a prime example of what we now call Chardonnay –inspired cool blondes.
